Important medical information for hygienist appointments
As well as checkups, you can also book hygienist appointments through our online portal. However, if you have recently undergone any of the following, then you should not book a hygienist appointment until the time since treatment shown has elapsed.

Joint replacement (6 months), cataracts (6 weeks), heart stent/valve replacement (6 months), heart attack or stroke (6 months) or coldsores (until fully healed). If you have been treated for cancer of any kind, then we will need confirmation from your consultant that it is safe for you to see the hygienist. The reason for this is that bacteria in your mouth can be disturbed during hygiene treatment and if these enter your bloodstream, there is a risk of infection in the area of recent surgery or organ concerned. If you need further advice, please call the practice on 020 8688 3869.
