Important medical information for hygienist appointments
If you have recently undergone any of the following, then you should not book a hygienist appointment until the time since treatment shown has elapsed.
Joint replacement (6 months), cataracts (6 weeks), heart stent/valve replacement (6 months), heart attack or stroke (6 months) or coldsores (until fully healed). If you have been treated for cancer of any kind, then we will need confirmation from your consultant that it is safe for you to see the hygienist. The reason for this is that bacteria in your mouth can be disturbed during hygiene treatment and if these enter your bloodstream, there is a risk of infection in the area of recent surgery or organ concerned. If you need further advice, please call the practice on 020 8688 3869.
Deposits
When you book using our online portal, you'll be asked to pay a £20 deposit to secure the appointment - this will be deducted from the amount you need to pay when you attend (or rolled over for further appointments if you need treatment). If you need to cancel or amend your appointment
and tell us no later than 24 hours before your appointment is due to begin, we will refund your deposit or transfer it to the new booking (Sundays not included so if you're booking a Monday appointment, you'll need to advise us by the previous Saturday). If you don't let us know in time or fail to attend your appointment without letting us know that you will not be attending, we reserve the right to retain your deposit to cover our costs during the unproductive time. You can access all of our terms of service by clicking/tapping here. If you are a member of our monthly membership plan, your deposit will be refunded to you when you attend.
Appointment timings
When you book, an appointment duration will be shown - for example, most hygienist sessions are shown as 40 minutes in length. However, this is the total time allocated for your appointment including surgery decontamination & preparation and completion of notes following your visit and your appointment will generally last between 15 & 30 minutes depending on the extent of the treatment required.
